Empowerment Congress West Area (ECWA) Mr. Black Herb Wesson’s Deputy, reported repairs to sidewalks on La Brea Ave between Coliseum and Veronica to begin Saturday, June 29 for each consecutive weekend except July 4th weekend. Be aware of some lane blockage curb lane. Upon the completion of the side walk repairs, the street will be resurfaced. Baldwin Hills is the second community to host air monitoring as part of the Study of Neighborhood Air near Petroleum Sources (SNAPS) being conducted by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Public input is critical to the success of this study, and we want to hear from you! Be a part of this opportunity to collaborate with CARB staff as we study air quality in Baldwin Hills. Saturday May 4, 2019 the City of Los Angeles will officially unveil Obama Boulevard in honor of the 44th President of the United States renaming what's currently Rodeo Road. There will be a street festival at King Blvd. and Obama Blvd. (Rodeo Rd.) with live music, speeches and food trucks from 12pm - 6pm.

Courtesy of C. Singleton, Community Outreach. November 2016 Report. Los Angeles Petroleum Administrator Mr Ntuk attended the ECWANDC town hall meeting. Mr. Ntuk was appointed by Mayor E.Garcetti. Mr Ntuk's office will manage oil and gas activities in our neighborhoods, and play a role in steering L.A. toward a cleaner, more sustainable future. There will be physical inspection of all oil derricks, pumping and inactive wells in Los Angeles. Mr. Ntuk is a Petroleum Chemical Engineer graduate of UCLA. Mr Ntuk stated there has been very little supervision, and enforcement of regulations. Their will be investigations into slant drilling rights, and mineral rights. Mr.Ntuk will be setting up a town hall information meeting with ECWANDC. His contact information [email protected]

This will be a good opportunity for the community to express their concerns with Coliseum traffic and insist a speedy effort to decrease dangerous conditions.
