MEET THE CANDIDATES 2021 AND VOTE By 2/6/21

4/15/2020

MEET THE CANDIDATes

Despite the pandemic, Village Green is safely conducting this year’s Board of Directors election.  There will be a 'Meet the Candidates' live event on Saturday, January 23rd at 10am.

Please do not wait until the last minute to vote.  A majority of eligible voters (a quorum) is required for the vote to count, and your vote or failure to vote could determine whether or not the election counts.

The election will fill five seats. All five seats have two-year terms.

After marking your ballot, insert it into the WHITE envelope and seal it.  Put the white envelope into the large YELLOW one and seal it.  Be sure the name signed and printed on the envelope is the same as the one the VG office has for you.  Mail your ballot or hand deliver it/or insert it into the mail slot so it is received no later than NOON on Saturday, February 6, 2021.

During the Meeting
  1. Community attendees will mostly be restricted to listen/view only mode meaning you will be able to see and hear meeting participants but not be seen or freely speak as you would in a conference call.
  2. The primary exception to this is during homeowners comments which begins at 7pm with early sign-up encouraged. Owners who wish to give comment can indicate such by using the chat function or the raise hand function. The host will then call on them one at a time and they will be able speak and possibly turn on their video camera if desired. For anyone dialing in by phone, the host will ask at the end of the homeowner comment period if there is anyone joining by phone only who wishes to speak and give them an opportunity to do so.
  3. If you are having video stream difficulties, you can use a phone dial-in number for audio and use the app just for interactive features. Check out the Zoom website for more troubleshooting tips.

Village Green Office Access-Limiting Policy

3/18/2020

Dear Residents:
Due to COVID-19, more commonly known as the novel coronavirus, the LA County Department of Public Health has advised all businesses to practice social distancing and limiting direct person-to-person contact as much as possible while still being able to conduct business.

Following Mayor Garcetti’s directives and out of an abundance of caution, in order to do our part to minimize the spread of COVID-19, until further notice, we are kindly asking that any services that are not essential to be performed in person to instead be handled via e-mail, telephone or office drop-box.

Some examples of essential in-person office services include:
  • Unit Key Pickups (From Work Orders, the Patio Gate Project, etc.)
  • The Scheduled Viewing of Association Records
  • Access to the Lost & Found for Essential Items (Keys, Wallets and Purses, IDs, etc.)

We kindly ask that general requests for all other regular association business, such as work orders, DRC requests, and assessment payments be done via e-mail, telephone, or where appropriate, the drop-box outside the front office.

For work orders, we ask that residents use the eMaint system for online work order submissions. If you do not have access to eMaint, please call the office so we can set up your account ASAP. If you cannot access eMaint at all, paper work orders can be found in each laundry room and may be dropped off in the front office drop-box once completely filled out. Our team will review them throughout the day to ensure timely completion of service.

The office is always available to assist or answer questions if you have questions or require clarity about this temporary policy. Please do not hesitate to call the office at (323) 294-5211.

Thank you for being patient with us while we work with health services such as the LA County Department of Public Health to stay informed on the progress of the COVID-19 situation in Los Angeles. We hope everyone is able to stay safe, secure and healthy in these difficult times.

Sincerely,
VGOA Management

COVID-19 Precautions at Village Green - from the Board of Directors

3/14/2020

Dear Village Residents,
While the immediate health risk of COVID-19 to the general public in Los Angeles is still considered low, Village Green is following the advice of LA County Public Health and proactively taking steps to prevent the spread of this infection. Learning from the past clearly shows that communities that respond sooner rather than later suffer less and recover faster.

You most likely already know that gatherings (here and around the world) are being limited to prevent transmission of this virus. To that end, here are some of the steps your board of directors is taking now:
  1. We have instructed the office to cancel all events at the clubhouse including committee meetings, informal gatherings, and rentals at least until the end of March and until further notice.  The restart date will be determined as the scenario plays out.  The sooner our community responds to this threat, the sooner we can all get back to life as normal.
  2. The annual meeting will not be taking place at the school since LAUSD has canceled all such activity. The scope of the annual meeting will most likely be severely curtailed. Your Board of Directors will discuss this at the March meeting.
  3. We will hold our next board meeting by webinar (details to be worked out, but something like Zoom Video Webinar is possible.
  4. Stay tuned for more information about these actions on facebook, our website, highlights, email, and in the laundry rooms and clubhouse.
We are calling on all our friends and neighbors to take these relatively minor privations in stride, and, knowing that things will soon return to normal, don't let this moment pass and miss the chance to be of service to a neighbor. Even it that is to just check in and make a friendly connection (but from six feet away!)
