- Large, bulky items (eg. appliances, furniture) can be picked up by L.A City garbage collection. You must call in advance to request pickup. Call 311 or 1-800-773-CITY/ 1-800-773-2489. You will be told where to leave the item for collection and should do so as late as possible on the night before pickup. You can also start a request online at lacitysan.org.
- Toxic (eg. paint, solvents, automotive fluids, batteries, lightbulbs, fluorescent bulbs and thermostats), and electronic (eg. computers, monitors, printers, cables, telephones, microwaves, cell phones and chargers) waste disposal should be brought to a city S.A.F.E Center. Locations can be found by calling 311, 1-800-98-TOXIC or at lacitysan.org.
