Thirty-five people attended the June Board Meeting held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, including eight board members and the management team.

Topics discussed include the hiring of a horticulture and landscape manager and a new annual holiday schedule for VG employees.

Baldwin Hills Elementary School (BHES) is proud to be in its 80th year of successful public service to the Baldwin Village community.
 
Since 2016, the school has been obliged to share space as a Proposition 39 co-location (shared campus) with a charter school. In response, Village Green families and supportive neighbors formed Neighbors in Action for Baldwin Hills Elementary School and joined BHES teachers, parents, and other neighbors in advocating for BHES to become a charter-free campus. Supporters wrote letters, signed petitions, spoke at LAUSD board meetings, and met with LAUSD officials and local and state representatives.

In a world that often feels disconnected, there is something incredibly powerful about our community yard sales.  Such was the case with the 14th Annual Village Green Yard Sale on Saturday, June 17th. This buzz-worthy gathering was a testament to the strength, resilience, and spirit of unity that lies within our Village.
The weather was perfect, and from the early hours of the morning, sellers could be seen frantically setting up to display their array of treasures as shoppers hovered around them. And as the hours passed, neighbors and friends mingled and bonded over shared hopes of purging old wares.
