Uniting Neighbors and Cleaning House:
The Triumphant Village Green Yard Sale

In a world that often feels disconnected, there is something incredibly powerful about our community yard sales. Such was the case with the 14th Annual Village Green Yard Sale on Saturday, June 17th. This buzz-worthy gathering was a testament to the strength, resilience, and spirit of unity that lies within our Village.
The weather was perfect, and from the early hours of the morning, sellers could be seen frantically setting up to display their array of treasures as shoppers hovered around them. And as the hours passed, neighbors and friends mingled and bonded over shared hopes of purging old wares.

Long-time Village Green resident Jim Muller created a buzz around a complete coffee and tea service set circa 1860. At one time, the service was buried by its original owner for safe keeping, only to resurface 150 years later at the VG Yard Sale in pristine condition! Old books, furniture, toys, and countless other items found a second chance at happiness with new owners.
While virtual connections often dominate current life, the success of our annual yard sale reminds us of the beauty of face-to-face interactions and the power of community. It demonstrates that when the Village Green comes together with a common purpose, magic happens, in the form of the largest community yard sale west of the Mississippi.
