Community-Police Advisory Board Meeting (CPAC)
Email any video of suspicious behavior taken on your property immediately when taken to Sow-pc3@lapd.online. The police request all videos, they stated they could lead to the prevention and or apprehension of a suspect in other crimes. They compile all videos in same neighborhood, which can indicate a pattern.
 
UCLA Free Tenant advice and referrals
UCLA has free legal council, and representation in arbitration for housing disputes.
Their service will provide draft letters, and also conduct workshops for renter’s rights. For information contact UCLA Housing Law Clinic Civic Engagement at 213-743-2165 Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. 
 
Empowerment Congress West Area (ECWA)
Mr. Black Herb Wesson’s Deputy, reported repairs to sidewalks on La Brea Ave between Coliseum and Veronica to begin Saturday, June 29 for each consecutive weekend except July 4th weekend. Be aware of some lane blockage curb lane. Upon the completion of the side walk repairs, the street will be resurfaced.

Message from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) regarding the Study ofNeighborhood Air near Petroleum Sources (SNAPS):

We need your voice! Join us as we seek to understand air quality and its impact on your community.
Baldwin Hills is the second community to host air monitoring as part of the Study of Neighborhood Air near Petroleum Sources (SNAPS) being conducted by the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
Public input is critical to the success of this study, and we want to hear from you! Be a part of this opportunity to collaborate with CARB staff as we study air quality in Baldwin Hills.
CARB will host two meetings in communities near the Inglewood Oil Field:


MONDAY, JULY 8, 2019, 7:00-8:30 pm

Obama Blvd Naming Ceremony & Street Festival: Sat. 5/4

Saturday May 4, 2019 the City of Los Angeles will officially unveil Obama Boulevard in honor of the 44th President of the United States renaming what's currently Rodeo Road. There will be a street festival at King Blvd. and Obama Blvd. (Rodeo Rd.) with live music, speeches and food trucks from 12pm - 6pm.

Coliseum Overnight Parking: Petition

Village Green resident Daniel Milner created an online petition to extend the boundary of Overnight Parking District (OPD) #560 to include Coliseum Street. Kimani Black in Herb Wesson office is working with the LADOT to create a resolution which will go before City Council for final approval. Please sign the petition to show community desire for this.

Emergency Training Classes: Starts Fri. 5/5

The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) is offering free emergency training classes Fridays starting May 5 at the Bahai Center at Rodeo and LaCienega. Meetings are from 6-8pm for six weeks.  Sponsored by the Baldwin Hills Village Gardens HOA.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH: BALDWIN HILLS OIL FIELDS

Los Angeles Petroleum Administrator Mr Ntuk attended the ECWANDC  town hall meeting. Mr. Ntuk was appointed by Mayor E.Garcetti. Mr Ntuk's office will manage oil and gas activities in our neighborhoods, and play a role in steering L.A. toward a cleaner, more sustainable future. There will be physical inspection of all oil derricks, pumping and inactive wells in Los Angeles. Mr. Ntuk is a Petroleum Chemical Engineer graduate of UCLA. Mr Ntuk stated there has been very little supervision, and enforcement of regulations. Their will be investigations into slant drilling rights, and mineral rights. Mr.Ntuk will be setting up a town hall information meeting with ECWANDC. His contact information  Uduak.ntuk@lacity.org

City Council President Herb Wesson will attend ECWANDC Town Hall meeting December 3rd. 3740 Don Felipe, Crenshaw Methodist Church, SW corner of Stocker & Don Felipe. This will be a good opportunity for the community to express their concerns with Coliseum traffic and insist a speedy effort to decrease dangerous conditions.
