Help our young trees thrive this summer so they can shade you in the years to come.
Join the Tree Committee on Earth Day, Saturday April 22 at 9:00 am at the club house to spread mulch around the base of young trees throughout the Village Green.
This winter’s rains gave everything a much needed boost, let’s keep the momentum going by mulching young trees to help conserve soil moisture. Both our horticulturalist and arborist agree that we need to mulch our trees, so lets do it as a community. If you have shovels and gloves, bring them!
Mulch has been donated by C & S Nursery.
Recycle items, tires, electronics, electronics, propane tanks,
medications, motor oil. Let’s clean out our garages, and patios. Free of Charge. 9am to 3pm at Sentinel Newspaper parking lot rear back entrance, 3800 Crenshaw Blvd.
The board of directors invites nominations of owners to fill the remainder of the term of former director Anne McGinn. McGinn resigned from the board in January.
Owners may self-nominate. The Village Green office must receive the nominations by noon on March 20, 2017. The office will confirm that each nominee wishes to be considered for election by the board and is eligible to serve as a director. Nominees may provide a written statement of interest by noon on March 22. The office will provide the board a list of eligible nominees and any statements of interest by March 22 via email.
The nominees may address the board at its meeting on March 28, 2017. At that time, the directors will vote on the nominees in open session in a public vote. Each director may cast a single vote or may vote for none of the nominees. If necessary, we will have a run-off between the candidates with the two highest votes. The nominee who receives a majority of the votes of the eight sitting directors (i.e., five votes) wins the election and will fill the vacancy.
The communications committee wants your feedback on the Monthly Highlights newsletter and this website. Please tell us your thoughts by March 15 in our online survey.
The speeches and reports shared at the annual meeting are now available under Resources/Reports. These include the board president's speech, the operation manager's report and the treasurer's report on 2016 financials.

This year, there will be a food truck serving free fresh churros at the Village Green Annual Association Meeting on Saturday, February 4 starting at 9:30am. (Limited supply - first come, first served)
Tickets for these delicious treats with be available at the ballot box, which will be set up at Baldwin Hills Elementary School, across the street from Village Green.
If you haven’t voted, hopefully a warm churro is just the motivation you need to cast your ballot and attend the annual meeting.
Remember, a quorum of Village Green owners is required to validate the election. If there is no quorum, we will have to conduct the election all over again, which is expensive and disruptive to the stewardship of our property.
