March 2025 Board News

3/25/2025

Compiled by Patrick Comiskey

The February Board meeting reflected the post-election Board, with new director Reba Glover and new officers: President Gila Brown, Vice President Chris Scornaienchi, Secretary Daniel Millner, and Treasurer Ashley Fondrevay. It was attended by 45 residents, 8 Board members and management staff.
PRIORITIES FOR 2025
The Board discussed priorities for the year. Topping the list: the continued appeal of non-warrantable status for Fannie Mae loans; hiring for the open management, landscaping, and maintenance positions; developing plans and budgets for property-wide electrical and roofing repairs; and onboarding and implementing the uManage software system.

NEW EMAIL ADDRESSES
To facilitate continuity across rotating positions, Director Haleh Shoa recommended creating dedicated, Village Green-owned email addresses for the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. This was passed unanimously.

ALL THINGS ELECTRICAL
Director Steve Haggerty presented a resolution to proceed with the next three building types in the Electrical Pilot Project. Buildings 14, 16, and 86 have been selected for the work, at an estimated cost of $476,323, and a resolution to hire a temporary Coordinator for the project at a cost not to exceed $28,000. Both resolutions were passed 7 to 1.

VILLAGE GREEN HIGHLIGHTS ONLINE
The Communications Committee received a request from a resident, who, citing privacy concerns, asked that two archived issues of The Village Green Highlights be removed from the website, which they were. Concerned about resident privacy more broadly, the Committee submitted a discussion resolution to the Board asking it to weigh in on whether Highlights should be removed from the website until it can be password-protected. In a straw poll, a majority of the Directors agreed with this approach. Director Daniel Millner will convey this news to the Committee.
