The June Board meeting was held on June 24, attended by 35 people, including eight members of the Board, management, residents and guests, and included our new assistant manager, Maybeen Polanco, who introduced herself this evening.
Director Daniel Millner proposed that all committee members acknowledge and consent to a code of conduct. The code asks committee members to commit to being timely, courteous, and prepared. Violation of the code could result in removal from committees. The Board approved unanimously.
STANDARDIZED LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE FOR COMMON AREAS
Hilders wrote and submitted a letter on behalf of the Board seeking to alert residents of his intention to standardize landscape maintenance for the common areas. The measure passed unanimously.
AD HOC CAFÉ DEBUTS IN AUGUST!
A group of residents working with the Cultural Affairs committee asked for permission to raise funds for the improvement and beautification of the Clubhouse fireplace room. The group will raise funds via a pop-up café featuring coffee and pastries, held in the Clubhouse patio on Sunday mornings in August. It was passed unanimously.
BOARD APPROVES LANDSCAPE LABOR COSTS
Landscape Manager George Hilders resubmitted a request for additional laborers to assist in relandscaping areas in Court 8 that will be disrupted by the supply line project. The added labor, for 15 days, will cost $11,780 and was approved by the Board.
ELECTRICAL PANEL RELOCATIONS ADDRESSED
Facilities Manager Linda Pollari sought clarity as to who is responsible for the expense of moving or altering electrical panels which are in locations that will not pass LADBS inspection. The Board asked for additional documentation which will be presented next month.
IN OTHER NEWS
It was decided that floor refinishing should be under the guidance of DRC in order to prevent radical modifications or floor replacement. The approved funds for Ms. Polanco to attend a CAI (Community Associations Institute) community.
Finally, Director Ashley Fondrevay said the Finance Committee plans to schedule a town hall for all residents, perhaps this autumn.
